Apple Inc., formerly Apple Computer, Inc., is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Cupertino, California that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software and personal computers. Its best-known hardware products are the Mac line of computers, the iPod music player, the iPhone smartphone, and the iPad tablet computer. Its software includes the OS X and iOS operating systems, the iTunes media browser, the Safari web browser, and the iLife and iWork creativity and production suites. The company was founded on April 1, 1976, and incorporated as Apple Computer, Inc. on January 3, 1977. The word "Computer" was removed from its name on January 9, 2007, reflecting its shifted focus towards consumer electronics after the introduction of the iPhone.

Apple is the world's second-largest information technology company by revenue after Samsung Electronics, and the world's third-largest mobile phone maker after Samsung and Nokia. Fortune magazine named Apple the most admired company in the United States in 2008, and in the world from 2008 to 2012. However, the company has received criticism for its contractors' labor practices, and for Apple's own environmental and business practices.

As of November 2012, Apple maintains 394 retail stores in fourteen countries as well as the online Apple Store and iTunes Store. It is the second-largest publicly traded corporation in the world by market capitalization, with an estimated value of US$414 billion as of January 2013. As of September 29, 2012, the company had 72,800 permanent full-time employees and 3,300 temporary full-time employees worldwide. Its worldwide annual revenue in 2012 totalled $156 billion. In May 2013, Apple had made it to the top ten of the Fortune 500 list of companies for the first time, taking the 6 position, 11 places up from the previous year.

iPhone 12
Speeder.
5G speed. A14 Bionic, the fastest chip known to smartphones. OLED display to the edges. Ceramic Shield layer quadruples resistance to falls. And night mode in all cameras. The iPhone 12 has it all. In two perfect sizes.

The smallest, lightest and thinnest 5G smartphone in the world.

Ceramic Shield layer. The screen is more covered.
The iPhone had the toughest glass used in a smartphone. Therefore, in order to dramatically increase the durability of the iPhone 12, we had to create something completely new.

Nanoceramic crystals
Introducing Ceramic Shield. The combination of glass with nanoceramic crystals harder than most metals. Simple isn't it? On the contrary, ceramics are opaque. But by selecting the right type of crystals and the degree of crystallinity, we managed to develop a formula that gives this material maximum strength while maintaining transparency. This is a breakthrough, thanks to which the perfect layer of Ceramic Shield was created. No smartphone has had it so far. And it is harder than any glass used in a device of this type.

Double ion exchange
Durability is important, but it must go hand in hand with scratch resistance. On both sides, we have used the double ion exchange process, which has so far protected the glass back of the iPhone against abrasions, scratches and everyday wear.

Quadruple resistance to falls
The durability of the front of the iPhone 12 is increased not only by the Ceramic Shield layer. The display forms one coherent plane with the edges of the device, which additionally protects it. In total, the iPhone's resistance to falls has quadrupled. This is the biggest leap so far compared to the previous generation.

5G to the power of the iPhone.
When designing the iPhone 12 with 5G in mind, we made no compromises. We wanted to use the full potential of this technology. And that required innovation.

Designing an iPhone with 5G in mind
We have developed special antennas and radio components for high sensitivity and amazing performance. In addition, we have equipped the iPhone 12 with the highest number of bands of all smartphones so that the 5G network is available more often.

Software optimization
We analyzed our entire software stack from applications to entire system architectures and optimized them for 5G. Example? Numerous apps will now take advantage of the enormous power of 5G without using any more energy.

Saving energy in Smart Data mode
5G works on the iPhone not only faster, but also smarter. When superb 5G performance is not needed, such as when downloading an update in the background, the iPhone 12 uses LTE to save battery power. And when it is worth speeding up because you are downloading the entire season of your favorite series, it jumps to 5G. Of course, you can manually switch to 5G whenever you want, whenever it's available.

This is just the beginning
Joining forces with operators, we have performed extensive engineering and testing to optimize 5G network performance. The results right now: astonishing actual speed, better call quality, better battery performance and better worldwide coverage. Here is iPhone-style 5G.

A14 Bionic is the fastest chip ever used in a smartphone.
It enables things that were previously impossible. For example, the processing of trillions of operations per second by the Neural Engine system. Or making movies in Dolby Vision, which even professional cameras cannot. Plus, it's super-efficient, so it doesn't drain your battery. This chip is ahead of its time. For what is yet to come, he is ready today.

A great leap. LCD is OLED.
The iPhone 12 has a ton of new features, such as 4K Dolby Vision video recording and hyper-detailed HDR photos, the amazing capabilities of which can only be appreciated on a very advanced screen. That's why we gave it our best: Super Retina XDR.

1200 nits of brightness in HDR mode. Contrast 2,000,000: 1
In LCD displays, all pixels are illuminated simultaneously, while in an OLED display, each pixel emits light by itself. Pixels can be completely blanked out for deep blacks, or illuminated up to 1,200 nits in HDR photos. This is how you get a contrast ratio of 2,000,000: 1. The difference is in the eyes.

The lighter the brightness, the darker the blacks
Texts and e-mails are much clearer. Photos and videos, even those from years ago, reflect reality more faithfully. And explosions or space battles in movies will explode with extreme detail, blinding brightness and deep blacks exactly where they should be.

Movie art? Art.
Until now, Dolby Vision has been used in professional film and television production. Today you can record, edit and play videos in Dolby Vision on your iPhone. No other smartphone can do this. (By the way, even professional film cameras can't do that).

60x more colors in 10-bit video
Introducing Dolby Vision on the iPhone was a two-step process. First, we raised the depth of HDR video from 8 bits to 10 bits, so the iPhone now captures a staggering 700 million colors. Then we added the ability to record in Dolby Vision format, which makes each frame more faithful to the real image.

Real-time Dolby Vision recording
Currently, filmmakers convert to Dolby Vision format already shot material, using professional computers in editing studios. Our task was to fit this entire process in your pocket. That is why, in cooperation with Dolby, we have created a completely new method of recording Dolby Vision material frame by frame during filming.

Editing in Dolby Vision on a smartphone
You can easily edit Dolby Vision videos in the Photos, iMovie or Clips apps right out of the box and on your iPhone. An instant masterpiece.

Everything in Dolby Vision
The iPhone 12 with an insanely fast chip allows you to shoot 4K Dolby Vision movies at a frequency of up to 30 fps. And then mount them with your favorite method. And with one tap, cast to your TV screen via AirPlay6. No other smartphone offers such spectacular possibilities.
