The ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO motherboard is based on the Intel® Z790 chipset and supports Intel® socket 1700 processors of the 13th and 12th generation. It has four DDR5 DIMM slots in dual-channel operation for up to 128 GB of RAM. Other features of the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO include two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot. The ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO also has 8-channel sound, a 2.5 Gigabit LAN interface, six SATA3 ports, Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, up to five M.2 ports, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and a number of USB interfaces.
